The Federation of Small BusinessOf over 3.7 million enterprises currently active within the United Kingdom, over 95% of all businesses employ fewer than 10 people. The need for a representative body is clear. The Federation of Small Business represents 150,000 plus small businesses throughout the commercial world of the United Kingdom. Incorporated on the 17th June 1976, it has provided a wide range of support to small business in the community. The purpose behind the organisation is simple. "To protect, promote and further the interests of persons who are self-employed or
direct or control small businesses and provide a national voice and platform for such
persons" The Federation is a highly respected lobby organisation, representing it's members at Westminster. It is invited to represent the small business community during the consultation stages of proposed changes to the legislation, ensuring a voice is heard before small businesses are damaged by unnecessary, restrictive, unnecessarily complicated or punitive measures. The Federation provides access to knowledge and advise covering all areas required to run a successful enterprise. It advises members of changes to legislation, covering all subjects, which may affect the running of the business. It provides access to preferential rate health care schemes, internet services, legal and accounting advise and insurance. For more information, visit their website at http://www.fsb.org.uk |
